Kona coffee cherries are hand-picked. Given the long harvest season, the cherries don’t all ripen at he same time—they need to be hand-picked to choose only the ripe ones. Cultivated and processed in the Kona region, located in the west of the island of Hawaii. The region has a tropical climate, characterized by sun in the mornings, rainy afternoons and little wind. This perfect climate along with the coffee growing is one of the best. The Kona region produces only around 2 million pounds of coffee per year, making it very rare and among the most expensive coffee in the world
